Get Pregnant Naturally!

The guide to helping women get pregnant

My Story and Why This Book Changed OUR Lives

By Cary | Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

I’ve gotten some emails from readers of my blog asking me how I got pregnant after 5.5 years of trying. I can tell you right now, Tim and I seemingly tried everything. We’ve seen a half dozen specialists, a “psychoanalyzer” and our own personal doctors numerous times. I’m not one for “miracles” or books that have all the answers, but what i DO know is that this book DID provide a miracle ( our little baby boy) and did provide an answer.  I know that it did work for the author (who i don’t know at all) and it did work for us. Getting pregnant naturally, after all the trial and errors, was suh a wonderful experience that i can’t stress enough. I highly recommend this book as required reading for anyone having issues or troubles getting pregnant. Infertility has been described to me, as sometimes a state of mind. I’m not sure if that is true and I swore that it was a physical issue, but the techniques and personal story taught to me in this book helped me to no end.

To say Tim and I were incredulous when I was discovered to be pregnant is an understatement. All I can say now, after the pregnancy, I’m happy to help others like the support I was given :)

Using the Bradley Method for a Natural Pregnancy?

By Cary | Posted in Uncategorized | Comments Off

On the advice of a doctor, he mentioned that i look in the Bradley method of childbirth. So I looked into this method of natural child birth and this is what I found:

This method was developed by an American obstetrician named Robert Bradley in the late 1940s. The idea embraces that childbirth is a natural process and that, with the right preparation, most women can avoid pain medication and routine interventions during labor and birth. Proponents claim that nearly 90 percent of women who deliver vaginally using the Bradley method to do so without drugs.

Thankfully, the program only lasts 12 weeks and is really intensive- moreso than other childbirth education classes. The Bradley philosophy says that it takes months to prepare for childbirth and parenting — mentally, physically, and emotionally — and prides itself on addressing all aspects of natural childbirth, as well as many pregnancy and postpartum issues. The course also emphasizes educating partners to be effective coaches.

Do your research online on this bradley method and talk to your physician and family members to see if this method is right for you and your choice for natural pregnancy.

Tips For Naturally Giving Birth and Conceiving

A recent Japanese study noted that nearly 20% of women who’d resorted to in vitro fertilization for their first child were able to naturally conceive their second child without other intervention. Why is it so much easier to conceive a second child after you can’t get pregnant with your first? The scientists proposed several reasons:

  1. Adhesions (scar tissue) on the fallopian tubes tear during the first pregnancy, making it easier to get pregnant a second time around.
  2. Pregnancy helps prevent or slows down endometriosis, which can cause infertility in many women.
  3. The emotional stress of trying to get pregnant could be far less once a woman has successfully birthed a child.

If you’ve been unable to get pregnant, this news should give you some hope. The fact is that there are many things you can do to help you naturally conceive and give birth. Here are some tips and information that may help you conceive if you’re finding it hard to get pregnant.

  1. First, be aware that you’re not alone. In fact, researchers believe that as many as one in four couples have trouble getting pregnant.
  2. Remember that there are two sides to the equation if you’re having difficulty with pregnancy. There are certain nutritional, lifestyle and environmental changes that both men and women should make to eliminate difficulty conceiving and promote healthy pregnancies.
  3. Eat a healthy, well-balanced diet that emphasizes fresh fruits, whole grains and proteins. These are some nutrients that are important if you’re trying to conceive naturally:

-         essential fatty acids found in nuts, seeds and flaxseed oil to balance your hormones and encourage healthy sperm

-         magnesium, zinc and vitamin A for healthy eggs

-         Vitamin A and zinc for production of healthy sperm

-         Vitamin E to support reproductive tissues

-         Vitamins B2 and B6

  1. Switch to organically grown meats and eggs. The synthetic growth hormones that are often found in many meat products mimic estrogen, and can impair both sperm and egg production.
  2. Eliminate caffeine, alcohol and nicotine from your lifestyle. All three have shown that they can cause difficulty getting pregnant.
  3. Add nutritional supplements to your daily regimen while you’re trying to get pregnant. Specifically, you should increase your intake of the following:

-         Folic acid, one of the B-vitamins. Folic acid has been shown to prevent spina bifida. Vitamin B12 has been shown to increase low sperm counts, and B6 has helped women conceive.

-         Selenium, an antioxidant that helps increase sperm count and may prevent chromosomal damage and prevent miscarriage.

-         Vitamin C does wonders for sperm. Studies have shown that sufficient levels of Vitamin C can increase sperm production, enhance sperm quality, and prevent sperm from clumping together thereby increasing their motility. In other words, Vitamin C makes it easier for the little fellows to swim to where they have to be.

  1. There are a number of well known herbal remedies that can help with pregnancy, for both men and women. These include:

-         For Women:

Agnus Castus (chasteberry), which helps balance progesterone. This can be especially helpful if you’ve been diagnosed with luteal phase progesterone deficiency. It can also help with miscarriage problems.

Red Clover contains B vitamins, calcium and protein, all of which promote healthy fertility.

-         For Men:

Saw palmetto berry enhances the production of sex hormones and helps decrease enlarged prostates.

Damiana stimulates the reproductive system, and can act as an aphrodisiac.
